Ralph R. Colistro, Barrister & Solicitor
Ralph has been practicing law in Alberta since 2007, primarily in the areas of business law, real estate, and wills & estates. Ralph founded Colistro Law in 2015 and is committed to our core values, which include:
• Responsiveness – legal services are only valuable if you are available and willing to execute on your promises in a timely manner.
• Problem solving – although legal issues may be complex, our approach is to find solutions rather than restate the problem.
• Client relationships – the sustainability of any lawyer-client relationship involves learning and understanding your needs. This means remaining actively involved in client matters and avoiding delegation to parties that are not familiar with our clients’ particular needs.
Ralph’s experience resonates well with entrepreneurs and those involved in construction and real estate development. He spent several years working in house with a real estate developer overseeing their real estate developments and other business interests. During this time, Ralph received a first-hand understanding of how construction and real estate development industry works, particularly as it relates to financing and cash-flow management.
Since returning to private practice in 2010, Ralph has continued assisting clients with business sales and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, incorporation, and drafting contracts. He has also maintained an active real estate practice involving both commercial and residential transactions.
In addition to actively practicing law, Ralph served as a member of the City of Edmonton’s Subdivision and Development Appeal Board from 2009 to 2015 and served as Chairman of the Board from 2013 to 2015. This experience has helped Ralph develop unique knowledge in the areas of municipal and planning law, which can be particularly helpful if assistance is ever required to obtain development permits or subdivision approvals.
